TUSCALOOSA TOURISM & SPORTS ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL DRUID CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL A ONE-OF-A-KIND EVENT FEATURING TWO DAYS OF MUSIC IN VIBRANT DOWNTOWN TUSCALOOSA
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Asheville, Chattanooga, New Orleans, Nashville… and now Tuscaloosa! Beginning in 2019, Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports’ (TTS) Druid City Music Festival will propel Tuscaloosa into an exclusive list of must visit music festival destinations in the Southeast.
TTS is proud to formally announce its inaugural Druid City Music Festival to be held August 23-24, 2019. The Druid City Music Festival will consist of two days of live music and entertainment, featuring various genres of popular music across 14 different venues in and around Downtown Tuscaloosa. This festival will not only cater to the several thousands of college students who call Tuscaloosa home but also the thousands of concert fans located throughout the Southeast. Tuscaloosa is advantageously situated within a four-hour drive from several music-centric metropolitan areas, which will allow for the city, and the Festival, to become an easily accessible destination weekend for those who travel for the two-day event.
“This event is a fantastic way to showcase Tuscaloosa’s vibrant music scene as well as the continued downtown revitalization to its local residents, incoming students, local West Alabama music enthusiasts, and live music fans from around the region,” said Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports CEO Don Staley.
The Druid City Music Festival will serve as a “welcome back” event for college students and has been designated as an official Tuscaloosa 200 Bicentennial event. The Festival will encourage festival-goers to eat, shop, and stay downtown throughout the weekend. In addition to promoting Downtown Tuscaloosa, the Druid City Music Festival will also support Habitat for Humanity and the Tuscaloosa Juvenile Detention Center through contributions from events to be named at a later time.
“Our goal is to offer a welcoming experience to the thousands who will attend the event - exposing them to great music, food, and the livability of Tuscaloosa, as well as giving back to our charitable organizations who are so important to our community,” said Staley.
Additional event information will be released in Fall 2018 regarding festival layout, specific bands, sponsorship packages, general admission and VIP ticket sales. Those who would like more information are encouraged to follow the Druid City Music Festival on social media sites, as well as register their e-mail to become a “Druid City Music Festival Insider” at DruidCityMusicFestival.com.
